The game summary

13,166 fans came to the Mercedes-Benz Arena to watch the game. Alba coach Gonzalez was without five players in their fourth game in eight days. In addition to the injured Marcus Eriksson and Jonas Mattisseck, Christ Koumadje, Louis Olinde and Gabriele Procida were absent with the flu. Against the clearly favored guests, the Berliners quickly fell into a 0:6 deficit, which a little later became double digits (5:15). Alba took advantage of a small phase of weakness in Fenerbahce at the end of the first quarter with four steals and came up to 18:24.

Maodo Lo reduced the lead to 21:24 with a three pointer. In a very fast and physical game, both sides lost possession. Alba defended better and didn’t let the gap widen. Lo got his third foul with five minutes left, putting Alba over the team foul limit. Metecan Birsen went to the line after a foul by Luke Sikma and increased to 34:27. With a combination of threes and free throws, the guests continued to pull away. By the break the gap was already 19 points.

After that, the battered Berliners only managed a little. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, hit almost every shot. The Berliners fell apart completely in the third quarter. Overall, they hit just 52 percent of their twos and 27 percent of their threes. The guests also benefited from being able to distribute the playing time to more players. For the albatrosses it is the ninth defeat in a row in international competition.

The next game for the Berliners is scheduled for the weekend. Alba welcomes Bayreuth on Saturday (8:30 p.m.).
