“I am in shock, it is very expensive,” responds a woman from Eemnes. A man from the same municipality reacts indignantly when he hears that the name change costs so much tax money: “75,000 euros for such a logo?”

The Eemnessers would rather have the money go to other things. “More places where you can learn and study,” says the woman. “Youth places and playgrounds, because we don’t have much of that in the Gooi,” the man suggests.

Residents of Laren and Blaricum also do not understand the high costs. “I could have thought of that myself,” a man from Blaricum responds sarcastically.
