1,394 retired magistrates – almost half of the total number – have a pension of 7,422 euros gross. But now that the De Wever government wants to top the highest pensions, the public prosecutor’s office in action: 4,000 convicted criminals will have to sit out their sentence immediately in prison, instead of waiting at home until there is room in the cell.
