700,000 seeds must provide seagrass in the Wadden Sea

Rijkswaterstaat started planting 700,000 seagrass seeds in the Wadden Sea on Tuesday. These seeds are expected to yield approximately 100,000 seagrass plants. Seagrass beds are among the most productive ecosystems in the world, but have completely disappeared in the Netherlands, mainly due to human activities, Rijkswaterstaat reports.
