Approximately 6,500 birds participate in the Golden Ring Show, divided into ten series. Two of those series are part of the European Championship. The jury chooses the top three most beautiful birds per series. They then receive a gold, silver or bronze ring based on this.
There are 5,000 visitors in total, although it remains an event for a slightly older audience. Young Kobe thinks that’s a shame: “I think it’s a shame, because that’s how it dies out. But on the other hand, I understand it. I got it from my grandfather, who convinced my dad a bit. That’s how I started breeding birds.”
