Cycle tourism in Ponza until summer with Ponza in Sella
With the arrival of the beautiful season, Ponza is preparing to become an even more interesting destination for those who love active and sustainable tourism. The island offers various cycle itineraries for cycling lovers. In view of spring, when the days get longer and the climate invites you to be outdoors, the bicycle becomes the ideal tool for discovering coves, sea views and less traveled views, while reducing the environmental impact.
A path started with the initiative “Ponza in the saddle”which turned the spotlight on the integration of cycling into daily life on the island, with the aim of reducing dependence on motor vehicles and improving the quality of air and life of residents and tourism. The plan involves the redevelopment of over a kilometer and a half of routes between Porto, Chiaia di Luna and Santa Maria, with new signage, lighting and greater accessibility. Not just infrastructure: a tourist web-app dedicated to nature trails, training courses for all ages and an expansion of the cycle tourism offer capable of deseasonalizing flows are also planned. An investment that looks to spring as the ideal time to cycle, but which aims to make Ponza a slow destination all year round, where sport, nature and environmental awareness intertwine in a more authentic travel experience.
