The competitions in the 2 legs of the World Cup held in Shanghai have been completed. On the last day of the organization, Mete Gazoz won the silver medal and Ulaş Berkim Tümer won the bronze medal in the individual competitions.
In the men’s classical bow category, Mete defeated Indian Yashdeep Sanjay Bhoge 6-0, Bangladeshi Abdur Rahman Alif 7-1 and Brazilian Marcus D’almeida 6-2, respectively, and reached the quarter-finals.
The national archer, who defeated the last Olympic champion, South Korean Kim Woo-jin, 6-5 as a result of draw shots in the quarter-finals, overcame the Japanese Junya Nakanishi obstacle with 7-3 in the semi-finals. Mete, who lost 6-4 to Chinese Li Mengqi in the final, took the second place.
Competing in the same category, Ulaş Berkim Tümer reached the semi-finals by beating Richard Krejci from the Czech Republic 6-2, national athlete Harun Kırmızıtaş 6-4 and South Korean Seo Mingi 6-5.
The national archer won the bronze medal by defeating Nakanishi 6-5 in the third place match.
On the last day of the tournament, the Classical Bow Men’s National Team, consisting of Mete Gazoz, Berkay Akkoyun and Ulaş Berkim Tümer, also received a silver medal. The national team lost to South Korea in the final and finished second.
Türkiye IS AT THE TOP IN THE GENERAL CLASSIFICATION
The national team completed the organization held between 5-10 May with 6 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
Türkiye was at the top of the medal rankings, ahead of China (2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).
Antalya will host the 3rd leg of the 2026 Archery World Cup in June.
