56-year-old woman died after a serious traffic accident in De Haan

Around eight o’clock the victim collided head-on with a truck with her car.

The accident occurred just after 8 am on the Brugse Baan between Bredene and De Haan. Near the roundabout at Vijfwege, a 56-year-old woman from Ostend must have suddenly deviated from her lane. As a result, the victim collided head-on with a truck. The driver was freed by emergency services and seriously injured and taken to hospital. She has since succumbed to her injuries. The Bruges public prosecutor’s office decided not to send a traffic expert to the scene. Thanks to witness statements, the circumstances of the crash are sufficiently clear.
