Detectives are currently investigating the crime. The investigation started after the police received a report that the 52-year-old woman, who came from Diemen, was missing. The woman was last seen in Landsmeer on January 8. Her car was found on January 9 at a fast food restaurant in Amsterdam. The police started a search and reported her missing.
The suspect quickly came into focus during the police investigation. The 31-year-old man was arrested in Amsterdam on the same evening. He is currently in custody and is being interrogated by police.
