5:1! Polar Bears storm into the playoffs as front runners

First place is for sure! With the 5:1 (2:0, 3:0, 0:1) against the Augsburg Panthers, the Eisbären Berlin can no longer be pushed off the lead and thus have home advantage in the playoffs in the decisive games.

After the 3:6 smack against Straubing on Sunday, there was now a victory in front of 5170 spectators. Strong above all the majority game. After Bennet Roßmy’s 1-0 lead (4th), the next three goals came from one man more on the ice. Frans Nielsen (14th), Marcel Noebels (23rd) and Zach Boychuk (26th) made the early decision.

After Giovanni Fiore’s 5-0 (31st), the German champions were only briefly careless and conceded the 5-1 through Adam Payerl (47th).

Crazy: Half a minute before the end, a speedster stormed the ice. Caught by the referee, he wanted to go to the penalty box, but Boychuk was already there. So it went through the big gate from the ice.

Boychuk, outstanding with six points in the last five games, at Magentasport: “We needed a win like that.”
