‘No pasarán’, say hundreds of teachers who would have to work longer for a lower pension. They will take to the streets on Monday to raise their voices, even though nothing has been decided yet – there is not even a government yet. “We are very worried. 500 euros less pension per month? I am not going to silently nod my head,” says Cindy Gebruers (45). History teacher Joris De Bremme (45) also explains why he is going on strike on Monday: “I am not going to the private sector, I consciously choose a job in education.”
