5 street style trends from fashion weeks

Fashion month ended on Tuesday with Fashion Week Paris. While numerous fashion houses played it safe and up in their F/W 23/24 runway shows Classics and archive pieces creativity found its full expression on the streets. There was no trace of boredom here; it was much more colorful than on the catwalks. With these five street style trends you are definitely on the right track from now until the coming winter.

1. Techno-Futurism

Metallic tones, but above all silver, prevailed on the streets and sometimes also on the catwalks. Paco Rabanne’s show was one of the key shows of Paris Fashion Week and the return of Pierre Cardin, both under new management following the death of their founders, was also eagerly awaited. So this street style can be partially explained as a homage to the Space Age designers. It doesn’t matter whether it’s leather looks in silver, silver-colored sequins, sparkling accessories or clothing made of metal: the technological developments of the current time, especially in the field of AI, are reflected here (in the truest sense of the word) in a newly awakened love for a techno- futuristic look.

2. Colorful leather look trench coats

Red currently triggers Barbie pink as trendy colour away. Both were often worn on the streets in the form of trench coats made of leather or leather alternatives. It is also interesting that the silhouette was mostly closed tightly here. Trench coats often appear as an alternative to coats that are easy to throw on and look effortlessly cool and underline relaxed layered looks. Here, however, the trench coat stands alone as a statement piece.

3. Hair clip parties

One hair style that has ‘trickled down’ from the catwalks to the streets is the bobby pin look, which uses numerous hair clips to create a very stringent look, usually in combination with lots of hair gel or spray that almost wets the hair lets appear. Perfect for bad hair days and also a futuristic look in silver, which is almost reminiscent of cyborgs.

4. Electric Blue

After black and white, blue was the most tagged color on the streets, according to American Vogue’s Streetstyle Tracker. But it wasn’t just any blue. This season’s blue is an electric blue, a sky blue that has been seen in complete looks on the streets and also in the form of eyeliner on the catwalks. In its evaluation of the London Fashion Week on its platform, Pinterest observes a trend increase of 75 percent in the past few weeks.

5. Colorful statement sunglasses

Sunglasses always play a role in street style dressing, because they are great for hiding behind and influencers use them to avoid blinking in pictures. But this season, they really turned it up. Colorful sunglasses in all shades could be seen from Copenhagen to London to Paris. In their current form, they are based on the techno look of the 90s, which is more reminiscent of sports sunglasses than the oversized models of the 2000s, which were having a moment until recently. Incidentally, metallic, black and white frames were also a welcome accompaniment for street style professionals, but then with yellow or pink lenses that made the world look a little friendlier.
