3rd league: Rot-Weiss Essen extended with first-choice goalkeeper Jakob Golz

At the club since 2019

Rot-Weiss Essen has extended the expiring contract of goalkeeper Jakob Golz. The 24-year-old signed a new working paper with the third division club until June 30, 2025. Golz came to Hafenstrasse from HSV II in the summer of 2019 and has played 57 games since then. In the current season he has kept five clean sheets in 23 appearances in the 3rd division.

“Jakob has been with us for four years now and is an example of the sporting development of our club during this time. He always worked hard, believed in his chances and is now our undisputed first-choice goalkeeper, who has already secured a number of points for us this season. We believe that his development is not over yet and we are pleased that we quickly found common ground in our talks and are tackling the next goals together,” said sporting director Jörn Nowak.
