Until the final phase, Erzgebirge Aue was on course for the important first victory of the new year, but then repeatedly invited TSV Havelse and was now in deeper trouble than ever.
FC Erzgebirge Aue suffered their third defeat in the third game of the year. The team of coach Jens Härtel, who has been criticized, lost 1:3 (1:0) to basement rivals TSV Havelse on Friday evening in front of 1,012 spectators. Jonah Fabisch had put the Violets in the lead immediately before the half-time whistle, but Nassim Boujellab’s equalizer (74th) triggered a catastrophic paralysis, which subsequently led to another defeat.
Captain Martin Männel returned to the FC Erzgebirge Aue goal.
Männel and Ocansey in the starting line-up
The most notable of the four changes to the starting lineup were captain Martin Männel and Vincent Ocansey. Männel returns to goal after two games on the bench in place of Louis Lord, who only signed from Bielefeld last Tuesday Ocansey immediately joined Marcel Bär in the storm.
The return of Marvin Stefaniak, who was recently suspended, also had a beneficial effect. However, Bär came a step too late when Stefaniak’s sharp input from the left (15th). Shortly before, the guests were lucky that the misunderstanding between Eric Uhlmann and Männel did not have any negative consequences (13th).
Big celebrations at Erzgebirge Aue after Jonah Fabisch’s opening goal.
Fabisch puts the violets in the lead
In terms of football, the events should remain at a manageable level. The deep fields in Hanover’s Eilenried Stadium also contributed to this. However, that was no excuse for Ocansey not getting Jamilu Collins’ cross pass over the line from two meters (38′). Nevertheless, the Auers were able to celebrate shortly before half-time when Fabisch extended the touch-up of Mika Clausen, who was then substituted injured, with his toe into the net (45th + 1).
Aue leaves the score 2-0 – and is punished
Luan Simnica, who came on for Clausen in the second half, should have made it 2-0 on Bär’s header assist, but he aimed freely past TSV keeper Tom Opitz (52′). Bär himself also missed a promising double chance (47th). That should pay off. Boujellab punished the Erzgebirge’s repeated negligent actions in their own penalty area with the score 1-1 (74′).
And it got even worse: Simnica lost a press shot, TSV joker Florian Riedel set up a volley for Lorenzo Paladino, who beat Männel with a hidden direct pass (80th). Aue only became dangerous once more – when Julian Guttau’s direct free kick flew just past the far post (90th + 5th). Joker Robin Müller then made everything clear for Havelse on the counterattack alone in the wide area (90th + 6th).
