FC Ingolstadt says goodbye to the winter break with a performance-based draw. The game against Erzgebirge Aue ended 1-1.

Things have been going really well for the Schanzer for a few weeks now. They have been unbeaten since the defeat on matchday 13 at Arminia Bielefeld (0:4) at the end of October, and this series continued with the 1:1 draw against Aue. Michael Köllner’s team remains within reach of the promotion relegation place with 33 points.

Ingolstadt’s tour with the help of the guests

The first half was largely lacking in highlights and offensive scenes were in short supply. Only after 30 minutes did the Schanzer’s actions become more compelling. They finally took the lead in the 41st minute – with help from the guests. Pascal Testroet was denied by Martin Männel and Niko Vukancic’s rebound flew into his own goal.

After the break the guests were the more active team. Because the Ingolstadt team were defensively but largely secure, it seemed for a long time as if Köllner’s troops could keep the lead over time. But in the 74th minute, Aue equalized. Marcel Bär scored with a header from a corner to make it 1-1. At the back, it was clear that both teams wanted to score three points, but it was rarely really dangerous.
