After eight editions, Beaufort has grown into a permanent open-air exhibition. Today, a total of 53 works of art are installed in the various coastal municipalities, by Belgian and international artists. Some even date back to the first edition in 2003.
“That makes it one of the largest open-air collections in Europe,” says Dumont. “In addition, these works can be visited for free, 24 hours a day, in the unique setting of our coast.”
The triennial traditionally attracts many visitors, but the sculpture park remains an attraction outside the edition. In the meantime, preparations for Beaufort27 are in full swing. During the next edition, about twenty artists from home and abroad will again show new work along the coast.
