3500 euros in expensive Apple stuff betrayed scammer at computer store

A family from Middelbeers was recently scammed. Someone had pretended to be an employee of Rabobank to the family over the phone. With his smooth talk he got one of the family members to click on certain links in an e-mail. The family’s money then disappeared from the account.

The suspect ran into the lamp in Hilversum when he came to pick up an Imac and Iphone in a computer store for more than 3500 euros. An employee did not trust this and called the police.

“Always call your bank!”
“Fortunately, this time the suspect was immediately arrested,” the police said on Facebook. “So watch out for scammers and don’t just assume that you have a bank employee on the phone. If you don’t trust the case, always call your bank yourself.”
