66 municipalities will jointly receive more than 34 million euros to accelerate the realization of additional homes for people who need special attention, such as the homeless, status holders and students. This concerns a contribution from the Housing Regulation for Focus Groups (RHA) 2023 of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK).
Certain groups of people have less chance of finding suitable housing. This concerns, for example, people who are at risk of becoming homeless, people with a medical or social need or remigrants with Dutch nationality who do not have a home after returning to the Netherlands. With the RHA, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations is making a budget available to accelerate the housing supply for these so-called focus groups. This is the fourth time that this scheme has paid out.
Realization of 4,365 living spaces. A total of 66 municipalities in the Netherlands have received a payment for 97 projects for the realization of 1,432 permanent living spaces and 2,933 flexible homes. It’s about:
• 175 living spaces for migrant workers
• 103 living spaces for homeless people
• 140 living spaces for people up to the age of 27 who leave an intramural institution
• 118 living spaces for people aged 27 and over who have left an intramural institution
• 629 living spaces for status holders
• 1,857 living spaces for students living away from home
• 166 living spaces for caravan residents
• 671 living spaces for people with a social urgency
• 186 living spaces for people with a medical emergency
• 320 housing units for Ukrainian displaced persons
