Union Berlin has made it into the round of 16 in the Europa League. The Bundesliga club, which is still undefeated this year, beat Ajax Amsterdam 3-1 (2-0) in the second leg of the second round.

Robin Knoche (20th minute) scored against the Dutch record champions on Thursday evening with a hand penalty, Josip Juranovic (44th) and Danilho Doekhi (50th) in front of 21,800 fans for the capital club. The goal by Mohammed Kudus (47th) after the 0-0 in the first leg was not enough for the guests. Ajax player Edson Alvarez saw yellow-red in injury time (90 + 7).

The draw for the round of 16 teams will take place this Friday (12 noon) in Nyon, Switzerland. Arsenal, Feyenoord Rotterdam and Fenerbahce Istanbul are among the possible opponents.
