The agenda of world football is focused on Madrid again. It is claimed that Spanish giant Real Madrid has reached a new agreement with Jose Mourinho, who brought significant success to the club between 2010 and 2013.

According to news from The Athletic, Real Madrid management shook hands with the Portuguese coach on a 3-year official contract. However, the presidential elections to be held on June 7 are expected to be a critical threshold for the process to become official.

The election, in which current president Florentino Perez and his rival Enrique Riquelme will compete, will also determine the club’s new term strategy. Allegedly, Mourinho’s decision was made directly on Perez’s initiative, and this process was carried out by the president himself, in contrast to the more cautious approach followed under Xabi Alonso.

While there are experienced names such as Mauricio Pochettino, Massimiliano Allegri and Didier Deschamps among the coach candidates, it is stated that the tide is turning in favor of Mourinho at the last stage.

It is said that Mourinho, who previously won La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup in Real Madrid, is at the center of the club’s goal of “re-peaking”. The return of the 63-year-old coach to Spain after his last season in Benfica has aroused great curiosity among the fans.

The official announcement and signing ceremony are expected to be shaped according to the election results. If Perez wins the election, Mourinho’s second term at Santiago Bernabéu will officially begin.
