VfB Stuttgart II won its home game on match day 2 of the 3rd division. The Swabians won 2-1 (2-0) against FC Ingolstadt 04.
The second representative of VfB Stuttgart had started their home game in Großaspach against Ingolstadt with a lot of vigor. The Swabians crowded the lead early on in the game, but both Samuele di Benedetto (9th minute) as well as Mirza Catovic (14th) and Nicolas Sessa (18th) gave good opportunities. After 27 minutes the ball was finally and deservedly in the Ingolstadt housing. Mohamed Sankoh transformed after passing by Christopher Olivier.
Just three minutes later, the Stuttgart rewarded themselves for the high effort. Goal scorer Sankoh served Efe Korkut, who netted from the edge of the box (30th) – 2-0 for Stuttgart. With this score we went into the break.
Ingolstadt creates that Connecting goal
At the second half, Ingolstadt trainer Sabrina Wittmann changed three times and demonstrated a perfect nose. Just under two minutes after his substitution, Mad’s Borchers managed to make the goal to 1: 2 from the perspective of his Schanzer (47th). As a result, a lively game developed with opportunities on both sides, the Stuttgart dominance of the first half was now evaporated.
In the 60th minute, however, VfB Stuttgart II could have been back in front with two goals. But Sankoh failed free -standing because of the glossy parloring goalkeeper Markus Ponath. On the other hand, Ingolstadt would have had to compensate in the 81st minute, but Borchers and Marcel Costly failed from a very short distance. A few minutes later, Ingolstadt had the next huge chance to put 2-2, but the unfortunate costly missed again. This time the leather landed on the crossbar (86th).
The game ultimately ended 2-1 for VfB Stuttgart II. The Swabians received the SC Verl. Ingolstadt on the third matchday in two weeks.
