Despite a two -time tour, SC Verl against FC Ingolstadt did not get beyond a draw.

The two clubs separated 2-2 on Wednesday evening (1-0). Verl ranks with 13 points in the table, Ingolstadt is with eight points 17th Dominik Steczyk (11th) and Jonas Arweiler (90th) People brought the lead twice, the goals for the FCI scored Frederik Christensen (66.) and Simon Lorenz (90.+5).

After the 0-2 defeat at Jahn Regensburg, Verls coach Tobias Strobl made four changes to his starting eleven. Michel Stöcker and Paul Lehmann played for Dominik Kijewski and Oualid Mhamdi in the full-back positions, Joshua Eze began in the center instead of Yari Otto and Steczyk ran instead of chilohem onuoha.

Verl had the first chance in the game after five minutes. Berkan Taz played a pass on Alessio Besio (5th), who left two opponents with a hook and failed with a low shot on Ingolstadt goalkeeper Markus Ponath. The Ostwestfalen used the next chance to take the lead. After an error in the Ingolstadt game structure, Besio dribbled to the FCI penalty room and matched Steczyk (11th), which had Linus rose holes out and scored 1-0 from seven meters.

The game -determining team remained and stood up patiently the deeply standing guests, but compelling opportunities did not jump out. After a corner, Hoffneheim also had a good opportunity when Viktoria’s goalkeeper Schulze defended a header by Marcel Costly (39th) with a flash reaction. Before the break, Ingolstadt had to replace his battered keeper Ponath (45th), for him Kai Eisele came.

After the break, Verl had little trouble to keep the harmless and ideas in Ingolstadt away from their own goal. In the 59th minute, however, Verls Paul Lehmann played a back pass on his keeper Schulze, which almost cost the sports club, much too short. Ingolstadt’s Costly sprinted in between and ran alone to the penalty area, but finished with a lupfer from 25 meters and clearly missed the goal.

The Schanzer now became more active and finally equalized. The Agile Costly struck a precise flank on Christensen (66.) from the left, which prevailed in the middle in the duel with Dennis Waidner and was successful with a head.

The game was open in the final phase. At first, Verl took the lead again: A flank from Fynn Otto landed in the five -meter room near Arweiler (90th), which pressed the ball with his head over the line from a short distance. But Ingolstadt struck again – with the last action of the game. Costly brought a free kick to the Verler penalty area, where Lorenz (90.+5) screwed himself up and equalized to 2: 2.

As part of the next match day, Verl will be a guest at promoted 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 on Saturday (2 p.m.), Ingolstadt welcomes SSV Ulm at the same time.
