SV Sandhausen goes into the new season after relegation from the 3rd league with coach Olaf Janßen. The club reported this on Wednesday. Janßen has been with league competitor FC Viktoria Köln since February 2021 and scored an average of 1.53 points from 189 games. Among the 58-year-old, the Cologne team took sixth place before the end. Sandhausen has been in 198th and since last weekend as a relegation. Janßen had already announced his farewell from Cologne in January.

“Olaf Janßen is the right man for our new beginning. Our analysis led us to exactly this coaching profile. In a very intensive exchange, he convinced us with his way of working, his character and his vita. Convinced that we will find our lost DNA with Olaf Janßen, ”says club president Jürgen Machmeier. Janßen replaces the Interims duo Gerhard Kleppinger and Dennis Diekmeier, who took over for Kenan Kocak in early April and ended the season.

“I searched for a project in which I can bring in my strengths, for which I am maximum motivated. I wanted to have the feeling that everyone in the club thinks the same way and look forward to this joint challenge. The responsible people convinced me in intensive conversations that we can build something in the long term. From the beginning there was a trusting cooperation. Vision to develop a permeable DNA in all areas and ages.
