In the first home game of the third division season, SSV Jahn Regensburg lost 0: 4 to the promoted MSV Duisburg. Christian Kühlwetter saw the red card early.
It was not the home premiere that Jahn coach Michael Wimmer hoped for: On the 2nd matchday of the 3. League, SSV Jahn Regensburg had to admit defeat after a bleak appearance MSV Duisburg (0: 4 (0: 2)). The fans in the sparse stadium were witnessed, as Patrick Sussek put the zebras in the lead (9th), Christian Kühlwetter Red for rough foul (11th) – and like Jan -Simon Symalla (0: 2, 24.), Thilo Töpken (0: 3, 63.) and again Sussek (67.).
In imperial weather, cool weather of all people brought his team into real difficulties in the 11th minute. Apparently frustrated over the just falling goal, the midfielder drove into the Duisburg Jakob Bookjan with stretched legs. Referee Daniel Bartnitzki pulled out the red card without hesitation.

The Regensburgers ran the zebras in the outnumber and conceded the 0: 2 by Jan-Simon Symalla in the 24th minute. He prevailed against two opponents and shot massively into the goal. The Upper Palatinate sometimes seemed miles away from the connection. Defender Leopold Wurm was repeatedly too careless, SSV goalkeeper Felix Gebhardt did not get out of his box. After the half -time break, the fans had to watch Thilo Töpkens Gate and Patrick Sussek’s second goal of how the tragedy continued. After the 0: 4, some of the Jahn supporters left the stadium.
Dream start for promoted MSV Duisburg
The sporting crisis seems to go on for the SSV: In 2024/25, the Upper Palatinate ended the second division season as the bottom of the table. After relegation, the Jahn started the season with a mew 1-1 against FC Ingolstadt 04 – a later equalizer saved the Regensburg rescue from a defeat right at the beginning of the new season.
For promoted Duisburg, on the other hand, the third division season could not have started better: On the first match day, the MSV scored three points against VfB II (2-1).
