In the duel between two table neighbors, Alemannia Aachen collected a painful home defeat against SSV Ulm in 1864.

Alemannia had to give up on Saturday before 21,701 spectators on the Tivoli despite the strong initial phase 1: 3 (0: 2) and plugged in the third defeat of the season.

After the dismissal for Joel da Silva Kiala (22nd), Alemannia was outnumbered for over an hour. Dominik Martinovic (42nd), Andre Becker (45.+2) and Leon Dajaku (49th) used this for Ulm ice cold. Gianluca Gaudino scored by corner for Aachen (72nd).

Castelle hits the post because Silva Kiala flies

From the beginning it was a lot of pace in the game with chances on both sides. Elias Löder (5th) and Jonas David (7th) for Ulm and Lars Gindorf for Aachen (11th/14th) were responsible for the first occasions on both sides. After a quarter of an hour, Aachen took over the game control and pushed for the lead goal. In the 19th minute, the Ulm post saved from Niklas Castelle from Aachen.

In one of the few counterattacks, Aachen’s Joel da Silva Kiala had a emergency brake against Dominik Martinovic and consequently saw the red card (22nd). This ended the pressure phase of the Alemannia and the game became more torn. Martinovic, who failed due to Jan Olschowsky (38th), had the first real chance after a longer dry spell. Four minutes later, the Ulmer did better when he reappeared in front of Olschowsky and scored 1-0 through the legs of the Aachen goalkeeper (42nd).

Shortly before the break, Dajaku had the 2-0 on the foot, but narrowly missed the gate with a Schlenzer (45.+1). It was better seconds later Becker, who after a pass from Martinovic alone rose to Olschowsky, whom the goalkeeper turned over and easily inserted (45.+2).

Gaudino meets by corner

For the second round, Aachen’s coach Benedetto MuzziCato reacted to the outnumbered and changed center forward Castelle against Marius Wegmann. Nevertheless, the second half started with another Ulm goal. Dajaku scored 3-0 (49.) at the presentation of Becker.

Despite the clear deficit and the outnumbered, Alemannia did not give up. Wegmann came to a chance for the home side with a header, who was not a problem for Christian Ortag in the Ulmer Tor (54.). On the other hand, Olschowsky saved Dennis Chessa in the 60th minute.

In the 72nd minute, Aachen actually scored the goal in a curious way. A corner from Gaudino went directly to the Ulm goal, where Ortag did not cut a good figure and let the ball pass (72nd). Substitute Marc Richter also became dangerous with a tight shot from a distance, but aimed a bit too high (76.). Florian Heister also tried it after a strong individual performance, but could not overcome Ortag (84th). For Ulm, Philipp Besong gave lightly 4-1 when he was looking for the end of a counterattack instead of playing the free teammate, and shot next to the goal (85th). Instead, both teams no longer scored another goal.
