Fortuna Düsseldorf caught up with a 0: 3 against 1. FC Nürnberg and thus prevented a home defeat in the fight for promotion to the Bundesliga.
Due to the 3: 3 (0: 2) against Nuremberg, the Fortuna missed the leap to third place and, with one point behind the relegation place, remains in the table for the time being. Nuremberg could have come up again with a victory, but is now five points behind the relegation place in eighth place.
Janis Ansteiste (19th), Mahir Emreli (45.+4) and Julian Justvan (61st) met for Nuremberg, Danny Schmidt (68./71.) And Shinta Appelkamp (78.).
Nuremberg coach Miroslav Klose was disappointed with Sky: “If you run 3-0, you want to take more than just one point with you.” With a view to the future, he said: “I know what the boys still lack, we want to work on that.”
“This team cannot be killed”said Düsseldorf coach Daniel Thioune. He criticized: “We had a brutally weak counter insurance. In the second half we had a good order and two top jokers.”

Düsseldorf took over the initiative, but Nuremberg took the lead. Düsseldorf’s goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier had defended a shot from Julian Justvan, Janis Anteste reacted the fastest and scored from ten meters. Nuremberg now had the better chances, Mahir Emreli just missed 2-0 in the 30th minute.

Shortly before the break, Nuremberg followed: Dawid Kownacki had a ball loss at the Nuremberg penalty area, which quickly countered. Caspar Jander played Emreli with a deep pass, who lagged the ball past the goalkeeper Kastenmeier (45.+4).

But Fortuna Düsseldorf made a spectacular comeback: Fortuna came to equalize within ten minutes.
“It couldn’t be worse”said Düsseldorf’s Danny Schmidt at Sky with a view of the 0: 3. He initially made it 1: 3 (68th). Jamil Siebert then headed a free kick flank to the right post, the rebound in turn used Schmidt to 2: 3 (71.). Nuremberg started to swim – the 3: 3 followed. And we still went to the fourth goal. But we must not allow ourselves to be such a first half”said Appelkamp.
Nuremberg’s Justvan criticized: “We were too unsure, lost too many balls and let Düsseldorf come back into play. For us it feels like a defeat. We saw today that we are not that far yet.”
