SpVgg Greuther Fürth has extended Dennis Srbeny’s expiring contract for another year until 2027. The 32-year-old moved to Kleeblatt from SC Paderborn on a free transfer in 2023 and has since been involved in 19 goals in 92 games. This season, the attacker appeared on the pitch 23 times over 746 minutes for the second division team, providing three goals and two assists.
Fürth coach Heiko Vogel explained: “Dennis is an important player for me. He understands the game and I can rely on him on and off the pitch. Now that we no longer have long-standing and experienced players with Julian (Green) and Branimir (Hrgota), his role in the dressing room is becoming even more important. He uses his experience to take the young players by the hand and acts in the best way possible for the team. That’s why I’m very happy that we have extended the contract with him.”
Srbeny said: “The last few months have been very intense for all of us. But that’s exactly when you notice the cohesion and team spirit. We kept the Kleeblatt in the second league together and I feel a lot of trust from the coach. He gave me a very good feeling and that’s why I’m now looking forward to starting next year here at the Kleeblatt.”
