Rostock gets a point in Kiel
Junior national player Shinta Appelkamp led Fortuna Düsseldorf to their third home win in a row and fourth place in the table with two goals and one assist. The Rhinelanders won the duel with Arminia Bielefeld, who had been relegated to the Bundesliga, 4-1 (1-1) on Saturday and have remained unbeaten in eleven games in front of their home crowd.
The East Westphalia team, without a win in Düsseldorf for more than 25 years, had to accept their second defeat under their new coach Daniel Scherning and are thus still stuck in the relegation zone of the 2nd division. In front of 25,841 spectators in the Düsseldorf Arena, Appelkamp (21st/66th minute), Ao Tanaka (47th) and Tim Oberdorf (76th) scored the goals for the hosts. Bielefeld, who are still without a win away from home, made it 1-1 in the meantime thanks to Robin Hack (34th penalty).

Greuther Fürth only gets one point against SV Sandhausen
SpVgg Greuther Fürth just doesn’t really get going in the 2nd division. Two weeks after the acclaimed first win of the season against the then league leaders SC Paderborn, the Bundesliga relegated team had to settle for an unsatisfactory 1-1 (0-1) draw against SV Sandhausen at home in Ronhof. The requirement of coach Marc Schneider was missed. “We have to step up,” the Swiss had said before kick-off on Saturday on the Sky TV channel.
Julian Green was able to avert at least one defeat with his headed goal in the 48th minute after a precise cross from the very agile full-back Simon Asta. Alexander Esswein put the guests ahead after a mistake by Fürth’s Max Christiansen on a pass from David Kinsombi (12′). In added time, Sandhausen’s Tom Trybull received a yellow-red card for delaying the game. In the bottom half of the table, SVS is still one point ahead of Fürth with nine points.
Holstein Kiel gambled away victory against Hansa Rostock
Holstein Kiel has now extended its dry spell to four games without a win. The Schleswig-Holsteiner parted on Saturday in the Baltic Sea duel against FC Hansa Rostock 1-1 (1-0) and got stuck in midfield. Fabian Reese (28th minute) gave Kiel the lead with a converted hand penalty in front of 12,432 spectators in the Holstein Stadium.

Lukas Hinterseer (88th) equalized for Rostock. After three games without a win, FC Hansa secured their first partial success abroad. Holstein Kiel had called for redress nine days earlier after the disastrous 7-0 loss in the test match at league rivals Eintracht Braunschweig in order to respond to the latest criticism.
