2nd defeat for BTSV
The pros of 1. FC Nürnberg gave their passionately cheering fans a day of celebration in the 2nd Bundesliga with the long-awaited derby victory against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The newcomers Christoph Daferner (15th minute) and Manuel Wintzheimer (81st) were the acclaimed match winners for the superior “Club” with their goals on Saturday in the 269th Franconia derby in the 2-0 (1-0).
In front of 41,204 spectators at the Max Morlock Stadium, Nuremberg not only ended a dry spell of five games without a win against their local rivals, they also prevented the season from getting off to a bad start. The Bundesliga relegated from Fürth, on the other hand, is without a win after two games.
Things got hot and snappy on the pitch. The “Club” dominated the first half. And he deservedly led: Tim Handwerker got the ball in his own half before the 1-0, stormed forward and crossed to Kwadwo Duah. The attacker’s header arc lamp chested Daferner over the goal line. Nuremberg’s Jens Castrop had previously hit the post (8th).
There was not enough attacking action from Fürth. FCN goalkeeper Christian Mathenia prevented Tobias Raschl from equalizing (65′). The “club” failed several times at the good Andreas Linde in the Fürth goal, before Wintzheimer finally delighted the Nuremberg supporters with his 2-0 on the assist of Taylan Duman, who was also a substitute.
Promoted 1. FC Kaiserslautern also scores in Kiel
Promoted 1. FC Kaiserslautern remains undefeated in the new season. A week after the opening win against Hannover 96, the four-time German champions drew 2-2 (1-0) at Holstein Kiel.
At half-time, the Lauterers were even deservedly ahead thanks to a goal by former Kieler Daniel Hanslik in the 33rd minute. After the break, however, three goals were scored in just eleven minutes in front of 13,113 spectators. First, the hosts equalized with a double strike from Fabian Reese (51/57), who was being courted by several Italian clubs, and scored the opening goal. But FCK center forward Terrence Boyd secured a point for the prominent returnees from the second division with his 2:2 in the 62nd minute.

After this goal, the Kielers pushed for the renewed lead. But even the comeback of the 35-year-old Fin Bartels three and a half months after his broken collarbone was not successful. After preliminary work by Bartels, Fiete Arp missed the best chance to make it 3:2 (84th).
Second win in the second game: Heidenheim defeats Braunschweig
1. FC Heidenheim has managed the second win in the second game. Coach Frank Schmidt’s team won 3-0 (1-0) at home against newly promoted Eintracht Braunschweig on Saturday. An own goal gave the Swabians the lead in front of 7,088 spectators: After a cross from Heidenheim’s Marnon Busch, Eintracht defender Philipp Strompf (10th minute) steered the ball into his own goal when trying to clear. Heidenheim striker Tim Kleindienst increased with a powerful header into the right corner (61st). Substitute Kevin Sessa (90th) set the final point.
Both teams started with the same eleven as at the start of the season. While the guests from Braunschweig were waiting for a counterattack in the first half, Heidenheim had a lot of possession. In front of goal, the hosts presented themselves much more efficiently. As on the first matchday, Eintracht showed good approaches in the 0:2 loss against Hamburger SV. Immanuel Pherai (50′) missed the greatest opportunity to equalize shortly after the break.
