2nd Bundesliga: Hansa Rostock: Glöckner follows Hartel – PK live at 4.30 p.m

Status: 11/07/2022 2:32 p.m

Second division soccer team FC Hansa Rostock quickly found what they were looking for when they were looking for a successor for the dismissed head coach Jens Härtel. Patrick Glöckner inherits the 53-year-old from the Mecklenburg coaching chair.

At 4.30 p.m., sports director Martin Pieckenhagen will comment on the surprising leave of absence from Haertel and the commitment of Glöckner. The press conference is available here in the video live stream.

The 45-year-old Glöckner was already in charge of training for the Mecklenburgers on Monday afternoon, who will welcome 1. FC Nürnberg on Wednesday. The last away game before the winter break in Braunschweig is on Saturday evening.

Patrick Glöckner’s previous positions as head coach included FC Viktoria Köln, which was still playing in the regional league at the time. In the third division, the native of Bonn coached Chemnitzer FC and most recently SV Waldhof Mannheim, where he was on the sidelines until the summer of 2022. In 88 games with the Mannheimers he scored an average of 1.68 points per game and in the end just missed out on promotion (5th place).

The Rostock coaching team has also been expanded to include 33-year-old Nicolas Masetzky, with whom Glöckner had already worked in Mannheim. He also receives a contract until the end of the season, which will be extended if he stays in the league.

Haertel was released on Sunday two days after the 0-1 defeat against SV Sandhausen. You’ve reached a point “when it’s time for changes and new impulses,” said manager Martin Pieckenhagen. Less than two weeks ago, Pieckenhagen was clearly behind Haertel – Hansa then won 3-0 in Regensburg.
