Hendrik Weydandt headed Hannover in the 25th minute. Maximilian Beier decided the game (90th + 3 minutes) when he countered with a low shot into the bottom right corner.
Hannover played very passively after the break, but Karlsruhe didn’t take advantage of that. Tim Breithaupt (24′) and Fabian Schleusener (33′) missed the best chances for the guests in the first half.
