Eintracht Braunschweig barely managed to stay in the league. To ensure that things go better next season, the club is present on the transfer market early on.
Eintracht Braunschweig has signed Italian midfielder Samuele di Benedetto. The 22-year-old comes from VfB Stuttgart on a free transfer and has signed a contract until June 2029. Di Benedetto is the eighth new signing from Lower Saxony.
Frederik Jäkel (RB Leipzig), Benjamin Uphoff (Hansa Rostock), Nick Bodon (Schalke 04), Yann Sturm (SC Freiburg), Tristan Wagner (Greifswalder FC), Jan Urbich (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Damjan Kovacevic (TSV Hartberg) were previously signed.
Di Benedetto most recently played for VfB’s second team in the 3rd league. In January 2024 he was in the 5-2 win against RB Leipzig briefly in the Bundesliga on the square.
Eintracht managing director Benjamin Kessel praised his new signing: “He takes responsibility on the pitch, has exceptional ball control, brings a lot of creativity and has a courageous way of playing.” Di Benedetto describes himself as a “street footballer who likes to play with the ball.”
