Mitch Kniat has been Arminia Bielefeld’s coach for three years. He led East Westphalia to the 2nd league and the cup final. Now he is leaving the club.

Arminia Bielefeld and coach Mitch Kniat are going their separate ways. The club announced this on Saturday morning. Kniat has been head coach of Ostwestfalen since 2023. His greatest success was reaching the DFB Cup final as a third division team last season, and in the same summer he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the past season, Kniat kept Arminia in the league on the last matchday and celebrated staying in the league after a 6-1 home win against Hertha BSC. Nevertheless, the club decided to separate. Officially there is talk of an amicable separation, but rumors have been circulating for days that the Bielefeld management wanted to give new impetus.
