On the N34, a car ended up upside down against a tree in the verge, after a single-vehicle accident between Gieten and Anloo. An air ambulance came to the scene for assistance.
The victim, a 28-year-old man from Odoorn, was taken to hospital in Groningen. Police say he was “seriously injured”. Two emergency vehicles from Groningen also arrived on the scene, but ultimately did not have to be deployed.
The N34 was temporarily closed to traffic.
