Speed skating world champion Joy Beune25, is a bona fide superstar in her native Holland, now appearing in the December issue of Playboy shirtless.
Beune did not inform his parents about his daring feat until after filming.
– I told mom that we all have boobs, don’t we?
According to Beune, the father also took the announcement well. However, he joked that he might skip the December issue this year.
Beune’s boyfriend, Olympic champion in speed skating Kjeld Nuis35, was thrilled when she heard about Playboy’s offer.
– He immediately said you have to do this. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you will look great!
Beune agreed.
– I am incredibly proud of my body right now. I’ve worked hard for it because I want to skate hard, but thanks to the work I’ve also got an incredible body, says Beune.

– I can’t promise that I would look the same after my career. I want to keep working hard even then, but you never know.
According to Beune, he has not always been satisfied with his appearance.
– There was a time when I compared myself to other skaters. They were really skinny, their bodies were incredible. I thought then that I was too heavy, that I needed to be as light as possible. That way I could skate the fastest.
Today, Beune understands that this is not the case.
– It was absolute horse shit. I have to eat well because I need fuel.

Beune poses in the magazine, which appeared in Holland and Belgium on December 5. In addition to the cover photo, there is a 12-page story about him inside the magazine.
Beune did not disclose how much he was paid for the photos.
– I didn’t have to do this for the money, but it was a nice bonus, Beune stated.

– I wanted to show that skating is a cool sport. I feel that especially young people think of it as an old-fashioned sport. I think it’s the most beautiful thing there is.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Beune is Holland’s biggest name in Playboy for more than ten years. Last summer, the 500th edition of the magazine was published.
Last February, Beune won the World Championship gold at 5,000 meters.
