21 games, three conferences – this is how the final day of the amateurs works – amateur football – football

Around seven hours of football live: For the seventh time, Erste will be broadcasting the final day of the amateurs on Saturday, May 21st. There are 21 games on the program. The game will be played at four different kick-off times.

For the clubs, it’s not just about the coveted cup trophies of the respective national associations, the winners will also appear in the first round of the DFB Cup next season. For the first time, all 21 regional associations of the German Football Association (DFB) will be there with their cup finals on the same day.

Start in the first at 12.05 p.m

After the final days had to take place without or only with a limited number of fans in the stadiums due to the corona pandemic in the past two years, the spectators are also part of the game again this year.

The broadcast on the first and in the live stream on sportschau.de starts at 12.05 p.m. At 12.15 p.m. the first six games will kick off. The other kick-off times are 2:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. The moderator is Julia Scharf, Thomas Broich will be an expert on the sports show microphone. In the last conference, the national associations play their finals without extra time and thus go directly to penalties.

Until 6.55 p.m., the first shows around seven hours of amateur football with a colorful mix of well-known traditional clubs and pure amateur duels. 17 of the 21 games can also be viewed in full in the live stream on sportschau.de. Afterwards, Erste broadcasts the DFB Cup final between SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig live.

64 teams start in the DFB Cup

64 teams are taking part in the first round of the 2022/2023 DFB Cup. 18 teams from the Bundesliga, 18 teams from the 2nd Bundesliga, the four best clubs in the 3rd division and the 21 state cup winners. The three largest state associations send two clubs into the race: Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia.

In Bavaria, the strongest amateur team in the regional league is SpVgg Bayreuth. In Westphalia, the champions of the Oberliga can play in the DFB-Pokal, and in Lower Saxony teams from the 3rd division and the regional league have their own cup competition.
