2024 the warmest year on record worldwide, the 1.5 degree limit exceeded for the first time

Last year, the global average temperature was 1.6 degrees warmer than before the industrial age. This made 2024 the warmest year ever measured, shows the annual report of the European climate service Copernicus. It is the first time that the limit of 1.5 degrees has been exceeded in a calendar year.
