Kilian Senkbeil leaves German professional football for the first time and moves to Latvia. The 23-year-old, who played for RB Leipzig and FC Bayern in his youth and most recently for ZFC Meuselwitz, joins the first division club Auda Kekava. The central defender confirmed this to Transfermarkt, but the club has yet to make an official announcement.
“It is important to me to take the next step. When the request came from Latvia, I was immediately interested. In the first training sessions, it quickly became clear that it was a good fit for both sides. I’m looking forward to gaining experience in international football and developing myself further with the team,” said Senkbeil. Auda Kekava is coached by Tomislav Stipic, who worked for Erzgebirge Aue from 2014-2015. In June, the club from Riga introduced Niko Bretschneider after his contract with MSV Duisburg ended.
