According to sports director Andreas Schicker, the player contingent of the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim is too great.
“In the next few days it is about slimming the squad. It is still very, very big,” said the Austrian at the start of the training, to which a good 1,000 fans came.
Almost 40 professionals are currently under contract. But something will change in the coming week, Schicker indicated. “One or the other lending story will now take place,” he said.
The candidates who could leave the club include midfielder Florian Grillitsch and the two defenders Attila Szalai and Stanley Nsoki.
The first competitive game for TSG on August 16 in the DFB Cup at third division club FC Hansa Rostock.
A week later, the away game at Champions League participant Bayer Leverkusen is waiting for the Hoffenheimer on the first Bundesliga game day.
