The animal can open locks, change color, and has brain cells in all tentacles. The makers pre-tested excerpts from the podcast in classrooms. The result: it could have been a little weirder. So when octopus expert Sy Montgomery talks about the first time the suction cups attached themselves to her arm (“1800 kisses”) you hear matching pops, followed by a rock ballad about the pleasure of octopus kisses.
