Attacker Ragnar Ache changes from second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Köln.

As the club announced on Tuesday evening, the 26-year-old signed a contract until 2029. “In the first talks with Ragnar, I had the feeling that it fits the 1. FC Köln very well in terms of sport and human,” said Cologne sports director Thomas Kessler, according to the press release.

Born in Frankfurter Ache, he was active for Eintracht Frankfurt, Greuther Fürth and his training club Sparta Rotterdam before his commitment in Kaiserslautern. So far, Ache has come to 20 Bundesliga-Piele (one goal) and 88 second division games (41 goals). In the past season he scored 18 goals in 30 league games for the FCK.

“When the call from 1. FC Köln came, I just thought: ‘cool! Now I’m really happy that my move to Cologne worked,” said Ache, who had played with Lautern in Cologne on the last second division. According to kicker information, Ache had an exit clause between four and five million euros in Kaiserslautern, which Cologne should have pulled.
