17-year-old boy arrested for robbery at Alkmaar snack bar

The police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for involvement in the robbery yesterday afternoon at the snack bar on the Kanaaldijk in Alkmaar. Two men ran off with money after threatening the owner.

After the robbery of the snack bar, the police launched a search and investigation, after which they arrived at the 17-year-old suspect. The role of the suspect in the robbery is still under investigation. The second suspect has not yet been arrested.

Yesterday afternoon at 4.10 pm two men enter the snack bar on the Noordhollandsch Kanaal. “My mother had just finished eating and immediately knew: ‘this is wrong’,” the son of the owners said about the robbery yesterday. “She pressed the robbery button that alerted the police.”

Knife

While she wants to flee, the owner gets a knife pressed against her. Fortunately, she was not injured. The cash register broke and the robbers took money. Less than an hour after the robbery, Bobby Snacks was ‘normally’ open again. “My parents are hard workers, they can’t stand still,” says their son.

The place has been robbed before, but the last time was a while ago. “I’m disappointed, but it’s no different. They are very strong: I have a lot of respect for them.”
