1500 people evacuated in Spain due to forest fire | Abroad

The fire brigade has also fought a forest fire in the south of Spain. It was said to have been caused by lightning and spread by the strong wind. That was near Murcia.

In France, the major forest fire in the southwestern department of Gironde is under control thanks to a rainy night. Thousands of people were evacuated there, but can now return home. More to the east, in the French department of Aveyron, another thousand people have been evacuated because of a forest fire that flared up.

Part of Europe will be struggling with a lot of drought and heat this summer, making the risk of forest fires high.
