15 working days per month and a monthly wage of up to 10,000 euros gross: more and more nurses are becoming self-employed

Figures released by the INAMI/RIZIV show a major shift from salaried home nurses to self-employed status. The latter category rose from 23,344 in 2011 to 31,294 at the end of 2021. The sector is clearly on the rise, and that is no coincidence. Jan-Willem Coopman (36) testifies about the success of the step he took himself twelve years ago. “Any nurse who wants to work hard and earn some extra money, becomes self-employed.”
