12-year-old girl seriously injured after collision in Veurne

The accident happened this afternoon in the Nijverheidsstraat in Veurne. According to the initial findings, the girl would have fallen with her bicycle and then hit a car, but that has yet to be confirmed. She sustained serious head injuries and was eventually transferred to UZ Gent by MUG helicopter. At the time of the incident, the girl was accompanied by two other cyclists, presumably her parents.
