11th stage of the Tour de France 2023: Bauhaus impresses in the mass sprint

Top sprinter Jasper Philipsen also won the eleventh stage of the Tour de France.

The 25-year-old from the Alpecin-Deceuninck team prevailed in a mass sprint after 179.8 km from Clermont-Ferrand to Moulins and clinched his fourth day’s victory at this year’s Tour of France.

Germany’s hopeful Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious) was again narrowly beaten.

The 29-year-old from Bocholt took third place in the exciting finish behind Philipsen and Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jayco AlUla) and thus raced onto the podium of a stage for the third time this year.

There was no movement at the top of the overall standings on Wednesday.

Defending champion Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) is still 17 seconds ahead of challenger Tadej Pogacar of team UAE Emirates.
