112 news: woman injured in collision • Bossche man arrested for robbery

A 33-year-old Polish man collided with two parked company buses at high speed on the Bredaseweg in Tilburg on Monday afternoon. One of those vans crashed into a tree. The driver had fled via the bike path when enforcers wanted to check him. The motorist and a 22-year-old compatriot sitting next to him were injured and taken to a hospital.

The driver tested positive for the use of amphetamine and appears not to have a driver’s license. White powder was found in the car. The car, a Renault with a Belgian registration number, has been seized because it is not registered and apparently not insured. The police call this a ‘ghost car’: an untraceable vehicle with foreign number plates. The police will draw up an official report for these cases and the dangerous driving behaviour.

The entire road was littered with debris after the collision. Research and witness statements show that the Poles drove way too fast on the 50-kilometer road. The driver also admitted this, but stated that the car’s brakes were not working properly.
