Rucphen exit closed due to broken car

The Rucphen exit of the A58 from Bergen op Zoom to Breda was closed for some time on Thursday afternoon. There was a broken car there. Due to the closed exit, a traffic jam of five kilometers from Roosendaal developed at half past one, good for a 15-minute delay. By a quarter past two the problems were over. Until then, traffic in the direction of Rucphen was advised to turn around at the Sint Willebrord exit (20).

Motorist crashes in Helmond

A car was shot from the Kasteel-Traverse in Helmond around a quarter to eleven on Thursday morning and ended up via a staircase. There, the driver drove through the bushes, rammed into a lamppost and the car came to a stop 100 meters away. The victim was treated by paramedics. How the accident could have happened is under investigation.

Truck overturns at Moerdijk

A truck overturned on Thursday morning on the Zuidelijke Randweg near Moerdijk. This happened around a quarter to ten. According to a 112 correspondent, the driver of the truck is unharmed. It is being investigated how the truck overturned.

Dachshund rescued from water in Breda

The fire brigade rescued a dachshund from the water along the Langedijk near Breda on Thursday morning. The animal had slipped from its leash and went after a duck. The dog was then unable to get out of the water on its own. A man took off his shoes and went into the water to help, but he couldn’t get hold of the animal. The fire brigade succeeded.

Arrest for holiday home break-ins

A 48-year-old man from Nuenen and a 30-year-old man from Mierlo are Arrested Monday morning on suspicion of several burglaries in holiday homes in Valkenburg. The police tracked down the two after a stolen car was found in Maastricht. That car had been stolen during a burglary at one of those holiday homes. The Nuenenaar is brought before the court. The 30-year-old man from Mierlo has been released again, but remains a suspect.

Fifteen drivers ticketed during a check in Breda

Fifteen people were ticketed on Wednesday during an integral traffic control in the Hoge Vucht district in Breda. Including three times because of driving without a driver’s license, twice because of driving with slippery tires and twice because of driving despite an expired MOT. Two motorists were caught making a phone call while participating in traffic. A vehicle was taken because the driver could not show the correct papers from the lessor and drove illegally in it.

Multiple accidents on highways A67, A16, A2, A50 and A58

A67:
An accident took place on the A67 from Venlo to Eindhoven around half past eight. There, a motorist collided with the car in front of him at the Groote Bleek rest area. One of the cars ended up against the guardrail. The accident led to a twelve kilometer traffic jam from Asten, good for an hour’s delay. The closed lane was reopened around 9 a.m.

A16:
On the A16 from Breda to Rotterdam, two lanes were temporarily less available at the Klaverpolder junction on Thursday morning after an accident. Salvage work had to take place and the road had to be cleaned. The road was re-opened around 8:30 p.m.

A2:
A motorist collided with the crash barrier on the A2 near Batadorp on Thursday morning. This happened on the road from the south to Eindhoven. The driver was trapped in the car and was freed by rescuers. Two lanes were closed due to the accident. Traffic towards Amsterdam was advised to drive via Nijmegen and to take the A73, A50 and A15. The closed lanes were reopened around 9 a.m.

A50:
On the A50 from Oss to Eindhoven on Thursday morning around a quarter to eight two trucks collided with each other near Ekkersweijer. The damage was extensive, but no one was injured. The left lane was closed after the accident. The closure of that lane led to a 16 kilometer traffic jam at the peak, good for a 45-minute delay. Around a quarter to ten the traffic jam here had almost disappeared.

A58:
In addition to the various accidents, it was also very busy on the A58 from Breda to Eindhoven on Thursday morning. Around nine o’clock there was seventeen kilometers of traffic jam between the De Baars and Batadorp interchanges. The ANWB warned of a delay of one hour. It was not until around a quarter to ten that this traffic jam decreased significantly.

Major delay on the E19 towards Antwerp, detour from Breda

Traffic on the E19 in the direction of Antwerp was advised on Thursday morning to detour near Breda. The ANWB warned of a major delay after an accident on the E19 in Belgium. From Breda, it would be better for road users to take a detour via Bergen op Zoom (A15, A29, A4, A12 (B)).

Five arrests in ‘stash location’ in Breda

A police subversion team raided the Haagse Beemden district in Breda on Wednesday. This was a so-called stash location. That is a place where a stock of drugs is packed and kept for trade. Five men between the ages of 17 and 63 were arrested in the building. The five are still incarcerated for violating the Opium Act. The suspects are yet to be questioned. Officers found about two hundred ziplock bags containing hash.

Car destroyed by fire in Heusden, police are looking for witnesses

Early on Thursday morning a car was destroyed by fire at the Tramhaven in Heusden. The report of the fire came in around 6:30 am. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire, the fire was already out. The completely burnt-out car had also almost cooled down. Probably no one in the immediate vicinity has noticed anything of the fire. The police are looking for witnesses.

Accident with injured person in Deurne

At the intersection of Voltstraat and Liesseseweg in Deurne, two motorists crashed into each other on Wednesday. Both vehicles spun meters away. The driver of one car had to be freed by firefighters. She was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The man driving the other car escaped unhurt. The intersection was temporarily closed.

Cyclist seriously injured after collision

A cyclist was seriously injured after a collision on Wednesday in an accident at the intersection of the N69 with the A67 in Veldhoven. The man was rushed to a hospital in Tilburg. The ramp to the A67 was temporarily closed.
