A fire broke out in a building above restaurant Tante Pietje in the center of Den Bosch around two o’clock last night. The fire caused a lot of smoke. The building on the Korte Putstraat serves as storage space. Residents in neighboring apartments had to leave their homes temporarily.

According to local residents, explosions could be heard, possibly from beer kegs that exploded due to the heat. At around 2:40 a.m., the fire brigade gave the signal to the fire marshal. The fire in the center of Den Bosch attracted a lot of attention.

Firefighters and police arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire and provide assistance. The damage to the property is extensive. Firefighters had to smash several windows to get the smoke out of the building. The cause is not yet known, nor is it clear whether the restaurant has been damaged.
