112 news: car burns out in Tilburg • injured in crash in Goirle

Two people were injured last night in a crash on the Tilburgseweg in Goirle. The car they were in hit a tree along the road at a road narrowing. The impact broke off the top part of the tree. The car came to a stop crosswise on the road. The driver and passenger were taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The police had blood taken from the driver there, because he was probably under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened. The fire brigade sawed the tree into pieces with a chainsaw.

During this job, the fire truck was almost hit by a motorist. A firefighter then had her stop. She was clearly under the influence and could no longer stand on her legs. The police arrested her. She needed the officer’s arm to stay on her feet.
